The Birdwalkers

When there are four front women in a band, are they technically a supergroup?

Following the likes of The Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, boygenius and others, The Birdwalkers have found a way to shine the most beautiful, girl-powered spotlight on each member’s songwriting and unique vocals. It’s a testament to the wonderful things that can happen within a group of women who love and support each other - musically, and otherwise.

Comprised of Paisley Marie on guitar, Laurel Mac on drums, Kat Gandy on bass, and Madilyn McCoy on keys and acoustic guitar, and everyone on lead vocals. Their engaging live performances have been well-received by reviewers, who’ve described them as “natural veterans on stage” (behindthepiccpr.com) and “a promising young rock band poised to do great things.” (Free-Times SC).

Paisley and The Birdwalkers released their latest single “Words” on all streaming platforms on December 7th, 2023.

Are y’all birdtalkin’ about us?

“An all girl band led by singer and guitarist Paisley Marie, this group looked like natural veterans on stage. Everything about this band is just solid. From country to rock, soft, subtle, emotional vocals to soaring, powerful rawness Paisley commands the crowd along with her band… One thing that stands out about this band, other than their amazing songwriting, is the harmonies and backing vocals. Every member of this band can sing and their voices blend well together.”

— Michael Bragg, behindthepiccpr.com

“The all-female group, fronted by singer and guitarist Paisley Marie, delivers a distinct take on country meets power-pop. Carefully crafted lyrics add a layer of poeticism to these new tracks.”

— Kate Bryan, extrachill.com

“Columbia’s Paisley Marie sees herself as a folk singer as much as a country artist, offering lyrics rich with poetic honesty, swept along by her buoyantly Southern croon.”

— Jordan Lawrence, Free Times SC

“Chances are Paisley Marie has been flying under your radar. Sure, you might have seen her open for a band or someone might mention her in passing. But for a long time, few have taken much notice of this wunderkid. Now that she’s paired with the backing Birdwalkers, let’s all do our best to acknowledge this up-and-coming dynamo of rootsy acoustic soul. She’s earned it.”

— Ethan Fogus, Free Times SC
